Picture News is a weekly news resource which enables children the opportunity to learn from the world around them. Each week a current news story is chosen and shared through a virtual assembly, an image, a thought-provoking question and a variety of teaching resources. It also links in key British Values which we teach in school.
Picture News at Home can be used by families would like to further discuss the focus news story with their child(ren) at home.
We believe that sharing current news stories and allowing discussion will broaden children’s understanding of current affairs as well as developing their thinking and reasoning skills. We hope you will find it useful too.
