Stone Cross School

The Friends of Stone Cross School are a group who meet together, have fun and raise money for additional resources for the school.

Every year different events are planned to raise funds. These include:

• School discos
• Fireworks
• Christmas Fair
• Summer Fair

An overview of how we have used the money to enhance and enrich Stone Cross children’s learning experiences in the last academic year are below;

· Personalised book bags for all Foundation Stage children

· A fantastic new wooden sandpit in the playground

· Christmas Crackers provided with their festive meal as well as a visit from Santa.

· A King Charles cut out figure being in school on the lead up to the coronation.

· Commemoration bookmarks to celebrate the coronation

· Theatre production visit

· Music lessons

· New books for the library

FOSCS have been very busy recently and have been raising lots of money for our school!

The first discos of the year were well attended and children had lots of fun with the glow in the dark theme. Despite concerns about the weather, the fireworks at Willingdon Secondary school were a huge success and raised £2000 for the school. This was closely followed by the Christmas Fair which £1500. 

The term ended with every child visiting Santa in his grotto which was again organised by FOSCS who decorated the grotto and sourced and wrapped the presents. 

A big thank you to everyone who has worked so hard this term to make all of this happen to benefit our children and school!
